Guidelines:
Compass Press expects highly polished manuscripts that have been thoroughly edited by yourself. First drafts are not accepted. However, unagented manuscripts are welcome. Only one manuscript submission per author at a time is permitted. If you have written a series please indicate that in your query but do not send along anything in regards to other novels unless asked to do so.
What we're looking for:
Our main focus is on fantasy (in all its sub-genres such as urban fantasy, epic, dark, paranormal, etc.), science fiction (in all its many sub-genres, such as steampunk, hard sci-fi, light, etc.), and we publish both adult and young adult novels. We only publish fiction.
Submissions must be emailed and must contain the following:
*A brief query letter describing the work along with a short author bio describing what you've done to build your platform.
*The first ten pages of the manuscript in standard format (double spaced, basic font, 12 point or smaller~depending on the font).
*No attachments are allowed. You must copy and paste everything within the email. Attachments will get your submission caught in spam and you will not receive an answer.
Response times:
Due to the amount of submissions we receive, response times vary from hours to a few months. Please be patient and do not send a follow up email unless it has been at least six months since you sent your submission. If your submission does not follow the guidelines above, it will be rejected.
